Shovelhandle Garden 2023

two males show today, both Raskals. The third looks like it wants to be female. The one Afghan would be a nice female. The other two plants are feminized, one has shown. Usually mid August for pot sex.

Afghan ousted

big void in the garden where the males grew. but that's not a bad thing.

The ALL GAS etc. purple/red stems all along. Just has preflowers.

London etc. It's a low spot in the garden = wet. Flowers are developing nicely.

Garden is mostly covered by volunteers = all the squash and sunflowers. Lots of big butternut squash in there. Last year ran 3.5 -4 lb/ea and these look good and the weather continues to bring what they need. No long dry spells, plenty of moderate rain and hot sun.

Raskal etc. is yet TBD

I didn't notice when I took the photo earlier, but the tallest sunflower was down in the middle of those squash vines! It is now laying on the perimeter of the garden and is as tall as the garden is wide.

yes it does. more variegate than necrotic, it's healthy. It does have wet feet though. That's the low part of the garden and it stays wet when we've had rains this season. I'm not familiar with the variety or it's origins.

The last plant to show, Rascal OG etc. The faintest of pistils in at least one place. A good week later than our average. If I didn't have the closet and the six on the deck and three auto seed I'm anxious to pop, I may have took cuts and run them. Time will tell how these plants work out in the end. :rip:

weird shit posting photos here recently. I took a series of photos, each has a consecutive file name. Again, the outdoor photos will not upload but the photo of indoor plants would upload to this page.
This sucks. :kendo2:

Are all the photos the same dimensions and file size (roughly)? If your outdoor photos are larger, that could be the problem....

It may also be related to the server change. We are trying to figure it out.

Well the London has a good showing of purple calyxes and trics. Behind that AssGas is filling out and flowering lots of sites. Raskal is also doing very well. Issue is the abbreviated season according to circumstances beyond our control. So we will see. I'll try other alias photo files when I have a moment.

Glad you got the uploading issue figured out, Shov. :thumright: Photos look fine, and yes, that Pound Cake is looking tasty!

Thanks. What I like about the London is how it went to flower early and is ahead of the others. I'd
I am not very preferential to colors but like 'frosty'. Lime green gets my attention.
