So, Ed Rosenthal and a partner have found a strain (Black Beauty) that contains 3.5% THCV, which has been shown to have appetite suppressant properties. THCV has potential for treating diabetes.

The article also mentions that some researchers are working on implanting genes for THCV production into industrial hemp.
