Plum Crazy Sour

Yeah I've seen it happen before. In particular I grew out a blue moonshine a long time ago where every node did that. Created very wispy buds.
Definitely a bummer because it's about 1/8 of my harvest

Contemplating how much to prune that branch

Decided to lop it off. It seemed like it was sapping a lot of energy. Definitely strange growth

And approaching mid flower. First crystals. Probably not going to be the best yield, maybe about 3 Oz. But that's cabinet life...
Both plants are doing the flattened stem mutant thing. Besides that one branch that stunted and got removed it doesn't seem to be a problem

Looking very healthy! I can tell where the fasciation is happening. Top colas get that "scrub brush" look to them. I assure you the weed will be fine though, even if the flowers are oddly shaped!

Yeah I think they will be fine but it's definitely a strange trait. I'm not sure how much the pics show what's happening but basically they have extra hollow stems that will kind of cave in on itself and flatten out, And some branches will pinch themselves off in the middle and fuse together, topping it and creating a split. Its actually creating a couple extra thick buds though. Here's a pic of one of the "topped" buds and one of a normal one. Again not sure how much this translates in the pics.

The darker green shorter one has much more crystals and smell early on. we'll see if the other catches up to it. Smells great. A bit of what I would call floral in with the more standard dank and fruity smells.

After some reading it seems that this is a condition called fasciation.

And I'd say they're right at mid flower now. Flipped on the 1st of Jan.

Getting closer
The buds look very similar on both but tyey smell pretty different. The shorter, darker leaved,less fasciated one is leaning more fruity. smells much stronger in general.

And here's the big fasciated double bud. very strange. look how many pistils per square inch it has. I'm assuming there's going to be a huge flat stem inside it? We'll see shortly.

The 2 look very similar but only 1 really has a loud smell. sour berry. Very nice. Neither have the SD foxtailing bud shape but I think the less stinky one is more towards the SD side and the the loud one is more PCR

Getting close to finish. Smells great. Sour berry. One smells a lot more than the other but they have similar character. Got an OK sunlight pic. It has tinges of purple. Very pretty looking bud
