Linger in the Sun

Well, I was hoping to have my clandestine forest lab built out by now but lumber prices have been acting crazy. Might start chopping down some alders to construct it at this point but that's for another story line...

A gifted plant left on my door by a kind soul sparked the urge, so for now I'll linger in the sun:sunny:

Already miss the hippie lady down the street, thanks GQ:puffpuffpass:

Beautiful pics Schwilly! Nothing like growing in the sunshine...

First timer under the sun, thank you:rollj:

I sure wish I could do that down here in the swamps legally. Great pic thanks for sharing!

Always wanted to try my hand outdoor, still getting used to the legality side:flyguy:

Nice to see you enjoying the move bud

Best decision of my life! Appreciate it RM:puffpuffpass:

the plant sure looks happy, glad you see you have a nice plant to tend...

Gives me something to do while waiting for lumber prices to drop, thank you Boo:whistle:

I'll open with the extent of my knowledge of outdoor growing... Hanging right around zero. Minus a couple vegetable gardens over the years I have never grown a cannabis plant outdoors under the sun to fruition. That being said I have paid attention over the years to the outdoor forum threads and feel I can stumble my way through a season to enjoy a couple buds in the ol' pipe come winter.

Adding to my gifted girl, I grabbed a couple plants my neighbor was trashing due to some thrip damage. Treated I thought i'd give these moms a retirement home.

All were in small indoor pots (still in cups with the bottoms cut out, very odd to me) so I cut the cups and up planted to 5 gallon buckets and pots using amended native soil. To the 70% native soil I added perlite, chicken manure, and some dr. earth organic ferts(carried it in the local store), although I left one all native to see what it would do.

Plant A- neighbors project over the years he calls it 'Kooter', says it has atf and 'da purple' among some other crosses over the years. Grabbed 3 of these, this one the only topped. She was pretty sad when I saved her from the compost pile.

The "Rescuer" in you runs deep Schwilly - NICE!

Which one is in the native soil? They look GREAT!
With the 3wks/Today, kept saying Old Things / New Things looking at each - appreciate the vintage thread!

On a nice track for those pipefulls - :rollj:
Keep on keepin on Schwilly, ty for sharing.

One way or another they always seem to find me:rofl:

Plant F is native soil only. I'm really far from where I wanted to be on the vintage thread, need some time to write up a couple stories that have been eating at me but seems I only have time for quick posts since the move. Thank you :puffpuffpass:

Inspiring...applied for my od license.

Nice, really digging the free light & loving the stack they are able to achieve outdoor, just hoping the coastal air doesn't mold them up before I can harvest some. I'm sure you'll enjoy playing with mother nature:puffpuffpass:

Nice work Schwilly! the only things I might suggest is to top dress with gypsum now through the end of stretch and to thin out some of that thicker growth for better air flow. Your fall season is probably pretty damp and that should help with bud rot and PM.

Thanks for the input Dawn Patrol, tried to thin the girls out after I saw you comments after posting, some days with handfuls of leaves feel like I didn't make a dent, will have to start the deleafing earlier next year. Never made it to the store in time but will try a gypsum top dress out next year too, really a new ball game outdoors so thank you:puffpuffpass:

Been a crazy summer, sorry for the lack of updates.

Coming into storm season with high humidity and strong dew daily and lots of rain in the forcast, kind of fucking with my girls but I expected that outdoors here. Had to take Plant E/the muse down early due to strong presence of PM. Will have to try some pm resilient girls next year and or get moving on a greenhouse.

Plant E, the Muse - Lost about 25-30% to PM and had to take her a week or two early for my liking. All in all she turned out pretty decent, some nice purple hues with a floral sweet berry scent

I'll start with the dirty, PM's a bitch in this coastal rainforest, comes on fast and spreads without plucking. Being a indoor guy the loss is new to swallow but expected from what I was told around here. Will have to hunt around for some resilient girls next year, talked to a old grower out of Eugene that has been running a variety of Flo outdoor since the early 2000's and swears by it, will hopefully score some seeds from him.

Will update the rest of the tribe when I get some time, hope everyone is having a good season:puffpuffpass:

Plant A - This 'cooter' line wasn't ready for the coastal rain forest environment, she didn't want to finish and I had to pull her early before a storm but still was able to harvest her with about a 20-25% loss to pm. Smell kind of reminds me of watermelon, will most likely end up hashing her

a-2.jpg

:puffpuffpass:

Plant F - another 'cooter' plant was damn near a total loss, she was really delaying a finish so I decided to leave her out alone to ride out the last storms. Between PM and complete abuse from the storms she didn't fare well. Interestingly she was the only plant I had in straight native soil. RIP

:puffpuffpass:

Plant D - The last of the 'cooters', she didn't really want to finish like her siblings but was still able to salvage a decent finish. This one finished a little better but still lacked that sweet spot, same watermelon like smell, lost about 20-30% on harvest to PM, these girls weren't ready for a coastal rain forest.
