Hello!
Does anyone else make their own fermented inputs? If so, what do you make and how do you use it?
I have been using Life Cycle from Ecothrive as a main feed soil amendment, but I top the plants up with my own liquid ferments too.
Currently I am using two different creations - one is a cacao ferment (made with husks, nibs and powder from cleaning a big bag of beans), the other is a special botanical blend (made with over 30 ingredients taken from a wide range of specially selected plants).
I haven't had either ferment analysed, but I did have the original botanical blend lab tested before fermentation and it turned out to be an excellent vegetative amendment. I'll upload the lab results at some point, if I can dig them out. I use each of them at about 25-50ml per 25L bucket. It's more art than science at this stage
I went a little heavy with them this cycle and got some yellow margins on a couple plants, but most are unaffected. I'll dial the strength back next time to keep everyone happy though.
Up until this point I've been in no till soil which was just reaching 5 years old, but due to unexpected circumstances I've had to suddenly move location and start again with some shop bought stuff.
I'm running Sour Melon Soda and Killuminatii from Canna Research and Senpai from @Umamiseedco. I've got the Sour Melon Soda down to 3 phenos and the Killuminatii down to 2, but the Senpai is from seed and there are 6 of them.
One of my Sour Melon Soda is short with long heads, the other two are tall with smaller more broken up heads. The Killuminatii phenos are almost identical, the only real difference being once is pure savoury funk and fuel and the other one is the same, but for the addition of a very sweet note that permeates it all the way through. Both are great for hash.
The Senpai is fairly varied, 5 of the 6 plants are of equal height, but different structurally. One is more upright and tighter, the rest are looser and wider, but of the same height. One is a runt, just super short and completely different to the others. Not stunted though, just short. I'm interested to see the other differences between them as they flower.
As flowering progresses I'll dial back the botanical blend (but not completely stop it) and up the cacao ferment to replace it. By week 8 they'll be exclusively on water until harvest. The only other inputs my soil gets are PsychMyco, Pure Zym and Flourish (both root drench and foliar).

I will start a growing thread early spring time. I have a process that starts a month or more before seed germination. Preparation is paramount to a successful grow.
