CBD for tinnitus? Not really

I'm sure plenty of our members are dealing with this.

I have terrible tinnitus, started with low hums when I was around 40 and progressed to a high-pitched hissing/ringing/chirping. Weed helps by taking my mind off it, and honestly it doesn't bother me that much, but I know it drives some people crazy.

Unfortunately, our favorite herb does not have any noticeable effect on the auditory symptoms... it just helps take one's mind off the constant sounds. The article is interesting, though, as the science of cannabis biology is always fascinating.

I get it pretty severe, I think. In my experience pot or alcohol are more likely to initiate it than calm it.

This is a timely topic as within the last few months I’ve been experiencing symptoms. I’d be curious to know how many other indoor growers are affected and if it’s related to increased exposure to electromagnetic frequencies?

I've always attributed it to the chronic exposure to loud noises that I experienced when younger. Power tools, loud live music, etc. I've never heard of EMF exposure having this effect. ???

The Eagles 1996 Hell Freezes Over tour. My wife and I had shitty seats surrounded by rowdy drunks. We asked the usher if even shittier seats might be available so that we could at least enjoy the music. We were shocked to be escorted down on the floor and right up to the stage and right in front of a bank of amps off to the side. That's when my tinnitus started. It got worse when I started weening off of benzos but I haven't noticed any positive effects from cannabinoids.

I did so many jobs with power tools when I was young, no hearing protection ever, and went to shows where I was right in front of the PA systems, no hearing protection, I'm not at all surprised that I have hearing loss and tinnitus. I wish I had known back then what everyone knows now, that our ears are fragile and not made to handle loud noise. Think about it: while our ancestors were evolving, the loudest sounds they heard were the roar of a waterfall or the crash of thunder. Not exactly comparable to running an air hammer!
