Hey everyone! Follow along if you'd like, as I grow a total of 6 plants, 5 strains, of my 3rd round of growing, first time CSI. I'll be running 5 plants in a 2X4 tent indoors, and a single Chem D x Sweet 16, AKA That Sweet D, lol. The indoor plants are 1 each of Trinity x Chem D, Chem D x Obama Kush. And 2 GDP x Chem D, AKA Grandpa's D, lol. Hilarious name's!
So the fifth one is sprouting from the soil now. The first GDP x T-1000 I germinated sprouted out of the soil fine, but the shell I had to remove, and the cotyledens wouldn't open. So I have another coming up now. Hopefully no issue with the shell on this one.
The outdoor Sweet D will be in a 10-15 gallon pot in COM Stonington Blend. Indoor plants will be in 3 gallon fabric pots in a homemade blend.
Blend is per 10 gallons of the base soil mix
5 gallons Stonington, 5 gallons Happy Frog
4 cups worm castings
6 cups perlite
1/2 cup of Build A Soil Craft Blend
The indoor plants are going to be a turn and burn kind of grow. Original plan was to grow 2 plants, 1 D x GDP, and 1 Trinity x D. But the rest of the seeds were calling me! 🤣🤣
So the originals are about 5 days or so ahead of the second pop, and the T1000 cross is a week behind the second pop.
I have a 2X4 AC Infinity tent with the Controller 69 (BT) controlling a 4" fan mounted outside the tent.
1 Viparspectra XS 2000 (220W), and 1 XS 1000 (100W) lights. This setup gives me flexibility if some plants stretch more than others. I learned this my last grow when 1 plant stretched more than the other. I originally bolted the 2 lights together.
I have a cheap humidifier I got from Ocean State Job Lots for about 25 beans. That's controlled by the Controller 69 by way of the outlet adapter for it.
I have a cheap little heater that will keep it about 72 F on the 80 F auto setting, lol. Not ideal, but I don't have a lot of room in the tent for a bigger one. Once my basement warms up some, it will be better.
This all keeps my environment pretty dialed in. It's small, but it's only for me and my wife. My last (2nd) grow I pulled 13 zips from 2 plants of suspect lineage, lol.
I followed the Build A Soil basic schedule, and will do the same this grow, just at an accelerated rate to try to keep from out growing my space.
I'd love some advice on whether to let them grow naturally, or top them? I was thinking top them at 3rd node, give them a week, and flip. What say ye?
Shit, I didn't mean for the post to be this long!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well hopefully you made it this far, good reader, lol. Here's pics for you, all but the T1000 cross.
Thanks for your time.

For the curious amongst us, the bs1 1, and bs1 2, are my special bag seed plants. Special to my wife, lol. She found a seed in a bag from her guy, but no idea what it was. I grew it outdoors last summer. If any of you are in the northeast, you know how terrible the weather was last summer. I grew this and a Royal Queen Seeds Royal Critical. I know, I know, lol. So I harvested both earlier than I wanted to, because we had a solid week of cold rainy weather forecasted in late September, and I didn't want to lose them. The Critical had one spot of bud rot, but none on the BS1. It has an earthy, floral, and very slight scent of skunkiness. The flavor is earthy, sweet, and a slight gassy hint. I'll throw some pictures of them up along with the others, and maybe someone may recognize some traits of it. Thanks.

@capdistdank  Looking forward to the show. :exactly:
Thanks dude! Stoked to try the Obama crosses too. Now I'm trying to figure out which beans I'm going to order for the 420 sale 🤔 🤔. I think I'm good with the Chem D for a bit 🤣🤣. Thinking about one of the Giesel crosses, but I haven't decided yet which one. Right now deciding between the TK and Sour Giesel crosses. Might have to flip a coin, lol.

Update time. Girls are doing good I think. Got a little leaf twist on them. Too much water? The Obama and S16 are growing a bit slower than the #2 D x GDP.
Back row, left to right:
Chem D x GDP #1, 2 weeks old
Chem D x GDP #2, 10 days
T1000 x GDP, 1 week

Front row, left to right:
Trinity x Chem D, 2 weeks
Chem D x Obama Kush, 10 days
Chem D x Sweet 16, 10 days

Environment pic below is over the past week. I bought a 4 x 4 tent (yay) so I have more room, and I may put a different heater in it to bring my temp up.

Gave em a little Recharge and the wetting agent I used has kelp in it.
Light is at about 500 ppfd or so, and around 32 on the DLI scale.

Might be letting them veg a little longer than my original plan, now that I have more room.

That's about it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Week 3ish update. All the indoor plants are transplanted into their final homes, 3 gallon fabric pots, yesterday. Medium was changed from original plan, to Build A Soil 3.0 re-ammended with Craft Blend, Kashi, and worm castings. Watered in with yucca/kelp wetting agent and Recharge.
Temp/humidity at 75/70.
Lighting is at ~500 ppfd, 18/6 cycle.

First thing I will say is, when I opened the tent this morning to check on them, got hit with a b/o smell strong!

Left side 3 gallon pots, back to front:
Trinity x Chem D
Chem D x GDP 1
Chem D x GDP 2
Right side 3 gallon pots, back to front:
Chem D x Obama Kush
T1000 x GDP
And at the very bottom is the Chem D x Sweet 16.

The 20240427_195828.jpg

The Trinity and GDP crosses are growing vigorously, in my limited experience.
The Obama cross is growing slowly and staying pretty squat.
The T1000 x GDP is getting there slowly as well.
The S16 cross for outdoors is growing pretty slowly also. That was transferred to a 6" plastic pot, until it goes outside in a few weeks with the bag seed plants in the very back of the tent.

Chem D x Sweet 16

I'll probably give the Obama and T1000 plants a longer veg in my 2X4, but the other 3 will probably get flipped in about 2-3 weeks, depending on growth.
Thanks for following along!

Weekly update time! Changed my plans up again, lol. The bagseed plants are now going to be run indoors. I really want to see how they turn out indoors, and I received a pack of the Indiana Bubblegum in my 420 order, so they will be outdoors with the Chem D x Sweet 16 plant.
I moved the slow growing plants into my 2X4 tent for some extended veg time. The T1000 x GDP, Chem D x Obama, and the Chem D x Sweet 16. This will also allow me to stagger my harvest a bit. The Obama and Sweet D are at 3.5 weeks, and the T1000 x GDP is at 4 weeks.
In the 4x4, all the plants were topped, leaving 3 nodes on each. The bagseed plants are at 5 weeks, Trinity x D and D x GDP 1 are at 4 weeks, and D x GDP 2 is at 3.5 weeks.
In the 4x4 group shot, left side, top to bottom is:
Trinity x D
Chem D x GDP 1
Chem D x GDP 2
Right side top is BS1, and bottom is BS2.
I gave the Trinity cross a light feeding of Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice grow, she was looking a little sad and hungry. Maybe she likes a little more nitrogen in her diet, lol. The others have just been lightly watered with the yucca and kelp wetting agent. The plan here is to give them a week to recover, top dress with Build A Soil Build A Flower and Kashi Bloom, and flip them. 20240505_105208.jpg20240505_105355.jpg20240505_105421.jpg20240505_105442.jpg20240505_105526.jpg20240505_105543.jpg

The 2X4
20240505_105603.jpg20240505_105603.jpg20240505_105643.jpg20240505_105704.jpg20240505_105807.jpg

PPFD is around 550-600 in the 4x4, and around 500 in the 2X4.
I put a more powerful heater in the 4x4, temp's between 75 and 80, and humidity around 70-75%.
The 2X4 is around 72ish and 65% humidity. Not ideal I know for slow growing plants, but it should allow me to give them longer in veg while the other tent is flowering. At this point, the 2X4 plants may need another 8 weeks before they're big enough to flip, lol. The T1000 cross is the slowest for sure. At least the other two are stacking nodes. This girl just doesn't want to grow up! I'm not giving up on her though, lol.
Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you next week!
