A great all around strain for after work smoking, A very very clean taste and amazing smell. This is one of those buds that grabs your attention, partly due to its color, but more so the all around smell and unique appearance of it is what draws people into it. The buds have an airy texture to them when grown under anything but 600w's, and you really need a 1k to get them as dense as they should be. For flavor and smell this one is up there with the cheese for me, its just irrisistable when grown properly, even when grown in less than favorable conditions it still comes out fairly fantastic. Most likely due to the fact that its first calyx in flowering come out purple and never look back regardless of what temperatures your room is at.

The only thing that I find lacking is the potency, it could be a bit stronger and with a little bit of work could be an amazing strain. Its got 3/4 of what it needs to be an elite keeper in most anyones garden, but a large part of choosing a strain in my opinion is its potency and no ceiling, I dont want to smoke 3 bowls or 30 and not feel any different. This strain is great for afterwork smoking and women love the floral berry smell and "dainty" taste that it has. It makes me wonder how potent the blackberry is that Nebu was working with, it sure grows and smokes far different than any of the other purple varieties out there, which all have some similiarities between one another. So if your looking for a unique purple to work with, this might be your ticket.

Rate the visual appeal of the buds from 1-10 unappealing-excellent.
Comment: 100% royal purple nugs, there is no green here. These plants start out the first week of bloom with purple calyx, leaves and some pistils, never looking back to their veg colors. You cant go wrong with the intense colors that come out of the blackberry hybrids, autum and maroon reds and deep royal purples. beautiful.

Comment: Lots and lots of white trichomes, it gives the dark purple buds an antique and light appearance when coupled with the light texture of the nugs.

White..................__[3]__ frosty white trich heads, lots of snow on this one, insides and outsides of the leaf and calyx are covered in milky white trichomes comprised of medium sized glands and small stalks.

Orange.................__[2]__ orange colored pistils provide a good contrast against the purple plant material.
Purple.................__[9]__ looks like the nug was dipped in purple paint, very dark and no green.

Comment: A lot more airy than it appears, you really need this one under the big wattages to get it tight, she has runny calyx when she is put in the shade or under a dim indoor light.

comment: A bit more dry that normal, would of had a stronger smell if it was a bit more fresh.

Comment: Burns great, tastes great. This would be ideal joint weed, it burns so smooth and so easy and has very few stems that are very small in diameter.

Comment: Very smooth with little to no expansion, can hold it in all day.

comment: Comes on quicker than later, has a bit of creep to it in the end but it is more of a indica feel to it, making this better for the evening.

comment: Good bit of sativa influence, energetic and up feeling. Makes music sound better and perks up your appetite a bit.

comment: Heavier indica effect to this one when smoked in quantity, you wont notice it off a bowl or two, but 3-4 bowls will have your head very cloudy, this is why i recommend it for joints.

comment: the only negative to this strain is it is not a 1 hitter quitter. if it were, then you would be seeing this on menu's up and down cali coast, I expect to see the blackberry in more hybrids in the future, there are already a few blackberry kush hybrids getting attention in the LA area.

I have blackberry Widow seed, and Blackberry Widow Crosses that i got off of Buckwheat's auction...i have never tried this strain, but i will real soon....I love your pics also....I have a Blackberry Widow x Sour Diesel cross that may up the overall potency of the BW...We will have to wait and see!!!!Thanks for posting this thread Sauron the Blue....FF
 
I just got a pack of Blackberry Widow /Cryatal Locamotive that should put a lil fire in her. Awesome pics thanks for the thread.
 
Nice BBW STB miss JoJo I bought many packs of his back in the auction day and got sniped by others on many more. I grew quite a few packs of JoJo's BBW and I really loved the strain as well. It was a beautiful plant and the purple pheno I kept was a monster yielder. Under 1K HPS growing 2 plants per tub DWC I could easily harvest a pound strictly off the top half of the plants and then I would let the bottom half go for another 2 weeks and the purple was truly beautiful.

I also kept a green pheno that had a better flavor than the purple and many claimed the green pheno was more potent but that wasn't the case for me, my purple was much more potent and obviously caught peoples attention in the garage days quickly. Not many people had seen purple buds back in the day at least in my Perfect Circle of friends. A true purple strain anyway.

Some of our out door like Calizahr would have purple in it and was pretty in its own right but nothing like the BBW.

I really miss Jojo he was a fun guy to talk to and he is probably the one person who explained breeding to me or at least the way he selected plants and how I should make beans and how to test them.

I have mentioned in a different thread when I decided it was time to take a break from growing and focus on family more and my career most of the strains I had left were JoJo's and some from Stoney which people laughed when I told them here try this it is Stoney Baloney and Blue Baloney but they quickly changed their minds ater they smoked it they were both awesome strain The Stoney better than the blue IMO but awesome stuff. Sort of getting off track but about the time I started my hiatus a smoke shop opened up north of me in a old Vet hall in Stanton, Michigan and the guys who bought the place opened it for people to come and play euchre and smoke socially. Well their ultimate goal was to sell true needy med patients shitty weed and garbage clones. basically taking advantage of people in a brand new market where often many are taken advantage of when something new pops up.

Well I would go there every so often with my brother and would see people I knew because home was not to far from there where I grew up and I would see people I didn't know. Elders with arthritis so bad in their hands that their fingers grew of for some reason were damn near side ways, bent to badly that there was no doubt they had to be in pain. This area I speak of mind you is a country small city where incomes were not very high and people didn't have much. There were quadriplegic's in fact one of my old friends would hang out there and he was paralyzed from the mid chest down from a motocross accident and he didn't have a lot of money so people like he would go there for meds and basically smoke for free and then many were buying garbage weed from these guys who owned the place. So after a few visits I sort of got pissed and I wanted to somehow shut these guys down to a point. At minimum I wanted them to stop taking advantage of these people because they had much more decent bud than what they were selling to the patients which is another scam I believe they did was getting them to sign up as their giver. But they would smoke the decent stuff in their back office while the others smoked what they brought or what the bought from these guys which honestly I have seen commercial that was greener and better.

But I went there one night with my Rubbermaid seed storage tub seed collection and handed out every single pack except for 1 which was Knuckleheads last known pack of Powerstroke Diesel. Which when I first came back recently to the island I sent that pack back to Knuck where they belong. But nearly every pack I handed out was JoJo's packs of seeds that I remember staying up night after night trying to buy up as many packs of his stuff as possible lol it was an addiction bidding and buying seeds on the old auction site.

But BBW, CrystalLoco, venomberry? Metalhaze. I forget many of the strains now but I gave 30 some packs of seeds away and my brother took some of my older equipment and helped a lady set up a small grow with the first proper HID I ever bought which was a 400 watt Hydrofarm MH and still to this day people said that lady had some of the best pot they ever smoked. She called it ChiChi or CheChe lol I guess.

I know way to long of post and way off subject for a older thread but a couple things caught my eye lol the purple face and the BBW and wanted to say I know a guy who looks just like your avatar but his face is usually red haha and also I wanted to comment on your pretty BBW bugs and report. having grew many packs of JoJo's BBW I can pretty much agree with the report you posted.

And the coolest thing is how good people like JoJo will live on in our memory's and in our medium of choice through his genetics. I am sure his work touched just about every corner of the country.
