Smells like mold in my jar...

I have been smoking some nice herb I harvested on Dec. 2016. Everyday, same jar, no problems. Then today, when I opened my jar, it smelled like bad mold. Now, my weed is rather dry, so there should have been nothing to grow mold with but the smell is there!

I emptied my jar and started smelling each individual bud. I then opened each bud to look for mold. NOTHING. My jar is just a regular ball jar, tinted blue. I've never had a problem but I do now.

Anybody ever run into this? And if so, what the fook caused the mold smell??

have you had a second opinion on the smell?

I know my nose doesn't know what Its smelling some times. :kendo2:

Sometimes as me and Momma cycle thru jars every now and then you will get a jar that will carry the aroma of what was in it last. For example Momma does some canning and I put some SLP sour larry pebbles in for cure and it came out smelling like dill pickles.:whacky114:

Thing is you mentioned you have been using the same jar and no issues prior. That would lead me to believe that there is some mold there you aren't able to see but it is there in aroma.
 
If you don't see any mold Snooky it should be fine..
sometimes storing pot can get a musty smell over time..
air is your enemy and opening and closing a jar doesn't help..
I've always highly recommended a vacuum sealer and a cool dark place..
