It is my understanding that we have already moved past that. From what I've read, nobody in the medical community thinks cannabis causes these 'diseases'...but rather that it aggravates the underlying conditions that do.

The article describes a study that really looks into the (real) association between cannabis use and onset of schizophrenia. Because the association IS there. Is it causation or correlation? The article says correlation, not causation. IOW, people who tend to be schizophrenic also tend to use marijuana, but there is no causal relationship.
