Thanks for setting this up, Curb! Happy to help anyone along!
Any experience running the larger 5/7gallon bags they offer and hand watering? I know in soil I’ve gotten away with watering once a day in three gallons but seems like these would probably dry out a bit faster.

Would you recommend JRcrop for nutrients with these?

I am very tempted to step into this world and still looking forward to you dangling more carrots in your regenerative thread.

ok how does it compare to canna coco. Been using that for 14 years. I've tried several others.

the coco grow bag looks interesting. how well is hortgrow rinsed?

This is going to be a larger particle size than canna. Canna has a lot of fine pith. HortGrow removes a lot of this, so it will be more aerated and lighter. There are also coco chips and long fibers that help aeration and horizontal wicking. I think you’ll like it if you are coming from Canna.

IMO, JR CropTech is a good mix for the dough, but the P is a bit high for coco, IMO. It will work pretty well, @Okiedope uses HortGrow and JR croptech, but reduced the Bloom part slightly.

I’m actually working with HortGrow to try to develop a coco specific dry salt line. Hopefully coming later this year!

good to know. i'll check it out. sounds like it'd be great for autofeeding setups. Canna doesn't dry out so fast so I use it for handfeeding.

OK im on the fence on ordering the sample pack you showed above or bags or coco and using them in .8 gallon air pots......

thoughts?

You should try at least a light next to Canna.
I’ve been running Canna too but my last personal run I ran one table Grodan Hugo’s next to a table that was 1/2 Dutch Plantin 1/2 Kaya expanding bags. The coco table was visibly fuller with better structure using the same lights, Canna nutes, feeds vwc, EC , dry backs etc.
That run is almost ready to trim I’ll start a thread with those yield results.
The next run is all HortGrow I’m on veg day 7 I’ll post this run in my thread.
So far the plants are super stoked 🤙🏼 I’ll post the run off EC and pH once a week.
